What does Documents - MRP not do?
It does not generate documents. Automatic generation is the document rules engine. It does not migrate old attachments. They keep working; filing them is a deliberate move. Access is the document system's. Which is the point - separate from the record's own rights. It needs the Documents app. That is the half it bridges to.

Installation
- Navigate to Apps.
- Search with keyword viin_document_mrp.
- Press Install.
Instruction
Default Data
After you install the app, the system will auto-create the following data:
- Actions: The MO confirmed, Mark MO as in Progress, MO Done actions along with the corresponding action type (Add/replace tags).
- Teams: The Manufacturing team is auto-created allowing you to give a group of users who don't have the manufacturing access right the permission to view the document relate to the manufacturing activities such as the attached blueprint/guidance.
- Tag: The files and links in the Document app can be categorized with tags and tag categories.
- Workspaces: The Manufacturing workspace is auto-created to contain the manufacturing order-related documents.
- Document Generation Rule: The Production Order rule is auto-created and attached with the most commend used actions in manufacturing as well as the default access rights for the manufacturing access right groups.
Note: You can create other document generation rules as well.
How it works
1. Upload documents onto the system
After setting up the BoM (Bills of Materials), you create a manufacturing order. On the chatter section, select the Pin icon and press Add attachments the attach the manufacturing-related document: Blueprint, images, guidance, etc. in pdf, docs, etc.
2. Check the attached document
After you attach the documents to the manufacturing order, enter the Documents app, and select the Manufacturing workspace, you will see the attached document appear in this workspace. Select a document, the right section on the screen will show the pre-set actions. To learn some actions that can be performed on documents, refer to the Document approval article.
