Units of measure with a history
A chatter on units and their categories, tracking the ratio, rounding, type and name - and every change also logged on the category that owns it.
Track Changes in Units of Measure (technical name viin_mail_thread_uom) is an Odoo 17.0 app for Odoo Community and Odoo Enterprise and Viindoo Cloud, built for data owner, inventory manager, auditor, administrator.
At a Glance
The facts of Track Changes in Units of Measure, version 1.0.0, in one place. Published by Viindoo.
How It Works
Two screens.
The category holds the history
Every change to a unit under it, prefixed with the unit's name - which is where you would look for it.
And the unit has its own
The same change on the record it happened to, with old and new values.
The units themselves
Nothing changes about how units are defined or used.
What You Get
Chatter and followers on units of measure and on unit categories
Tracking on name, category, ratio, inverse ratio, rounding and type
Every unit change also logged on its category, named
Uses Odoo's native tracking - old value, new value, user, date
No new screen and nothing to configure
Applies to the units your products, BoMs and prices already use

What This App Does Not Do
Read this before you buy. Everything below is something the app deliberately leaves to another app or to you.
It records it; blocking a ratio change is an access-rights decision.
Odoo's conversions apply from the moment a ratio changes - this tells you when that was.
Earlier changes were never recorded.
Active flag and technical fields are left out to keep the chatter readable.
