It does not track every field. A chatter full of noise is a chatter nobody reads. It does not prevent changes. Restricting who may edit is access rights. Tracking starts at installation. Earlier changes were never recorded. Prices are not tracked here. Pricelists have their own history and their own module.

- Category name and parent tracking join the accounting and valuation trackers in one chatter.
Installation
- Navigate to Apps.
- Search with keyword viin_mail_thread_product.
- Press Install.
Instruction
After the installation, navigate to Inventory ‣ Configuration ‣ Product Categories, select an existing product category or press Create to generate a new one.
A chatter section where users can send messages, log notes, attach documents or add followers will be displayed here. The editor name and changes of the following fields will be tracked:
- Product Category name.
- Parent Category.
Note: The to_account_accountant module needs to be installed in order to define accounting information on the product category.
