What does Employee Grade Code do?
A normalised, unique code on every employee grade, generated from the name and safe to use in integrations.
What does Employee Grade Code not do?
It does not translate. The name stays multilingual; the code does not. It does not renumber on rename. A code is generated once - that is the point. Uniqueness is per company. Two companies may hold the same code. It adds no logic of its own. What the code is used for is up to what reads it.

- Codes are generated from JSONB translations, preferring en_US.
