How It Works
Two steps.
Define the ladder
Ordered records, so Junior comes before Senior wherever they are listed. Departments can own their own.
Put people on it
One field on the employee, tracked when it changes - so a promotion leaves a trace.
Read the organisation by level
Because it is a field, the directory groups by it and a headcount by grade is a filter.

What does HR Employee Grade not do?
It does not set pay. Salary bands live in payroll or in your contract data; this supplies the level they attach to. No promotion workflow. Changing the grade is a field change with tracking, not a process. One grade per employee. Dual grading across two departments is not modelled.

Installation
- Navigate to Apps.
- Search with keyword to_hr_employee_grade.
- Press Install.

1. Enable developer mode (debug mode) and create employee grades in Employee profile management software
Go to Employees > Configuration > Employee Grade > Create.
Fill in the information for the grade:
2. Select the grade for each employee
Go to Employees > Employees > on an Employee profile > at the HR Settings tab, and select the grade for the employee.
3. Manage employees by grades in the Employee application
