What does MRP Standard Consumption do?
A loss rate on every BoM line, carried onto each manufacturing order as a standard, and an analysis of actual consumption against it.
What does MRP Standard Consumption not do?
It does not stop over-consumption. It measures it; the order still consumes what the shop floor records. It only rates finished orders. Actual loss rate is computed when the order reaches Done. Changing the BoM does not rewrite existing orders. The standard is fixed when the order is created. No cost figure here. The accounting companion values the difference.
