What does Sale Advance Payment do?

What does Sale Advance Payment not do?
A linked payment reconciles only with its orders. Remove the link to use it elsewhere. Amounts are not pro-rated by order. One payment can cover several orders; reconciliation decides. Sales only. The purchase companion covers vendors. Accounting-invoice access needed to see the fields. Salespeople without it see the order as before.
