The points in a product's life that mean something
A named milestone - 1,000 km, 250 hours, 5,000 cycles - defined once and shared by warranty, maintenance and development.
Product Milestone (technical name to_product_milestone) is an Odoo 17.0 app for Odoo Community and Odoo Enterprise and Viindoo Cloud, built for maintenance planner, after-sales, product manager, administrator.
At a Glance
The facts of Product Milestone, version 0.1, in one place. Published by Viindoo.
How It Works
Create the milestones, then reference them from schedules.
The list
Run-in, service, overhaul, major service - each with an amount and a unit.
One milestone
Three fields; the unit can be hours, kilometres, cycles or anything else.
Where it is used
A schedule line points at a milestone rather than retyping it.
What You Get
A milestone is a name, an amount and a unit of measure
Unique per amount and unit - no duplicate 1,000 km entries
Displayed as "First Service [1000 km]" wherever it is used
Shared by maintenance schedules, warranty and development
Managed from Maintenance > Configuration
A technical base: installed automatically by the modules that need it

What This App Does Not Do
Read this before you buy. Everything below is something the app deliberately leaves to another app or to you.
Other modules give a milestone meaning.
The working-frequency module supplies the running total.
Pick a unit fine enough for what you need.
Milestones are global; products choose which to use.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does Product Milestone do?
A named milestone - 1,000 km, 250 hours, 5,000 cycles - defined once and shared by warranty, maintenance and development.
What does Product Milestone not do?
It does nothing on its own. Other modules give a milestone meaning. It does not track a product's progress toward a milestone. The working-frequency module supplies the running total. Amounts are whole numbers. Pick a unit fine enough for what you need. No per-product list. Milestones are global; products choose which to use.
Who is Product Milestone for?
Maintenance planner: Builds schedules from a list that already exists. After-sales: Uses the same milestones for warranty limits. Product manager: Defines the service points once per product family. Administrator: One master list to maintain.
Which Odoo version and editions does it support?
Odoo 17.0 - Odoo Community, Odoo Enterprise, Viindoo Cloud. Upgrades to a newer Odoo series are a separate purchase for that series.
What does it depend on?
It installs on top of: uom. Odoo installs them with it.
How do I set it up?
Create the milestones, then reference them from schedules.
What works well with it?
Product maintenance schedule (to_product_maintenance_schedule): What to do at each milestone. Equipment working frequency (to_equipment_woking_frequency): How far a machine has got. Warranty management (to_warranty_management): Milestones as warranty limits.
Can I try it before buying?
Yes - the Live Preview button at the top of this page opens the module's own screen on a working database.
