Demo video: Accounting & Finance
Odoo Community Edition hides or restricts a number of advanced Accounting features.
This module restores key “accountant-grade” controls for Odoo CE users.
Key Features
Fiscal Year management
Define fiscal years via Fiscal Years and let the system compute fiscal-year ranges based on fiscal year records.
Fiscal year ending settings
Configure the fiscal year ending day/month in Accounting settings and validate the configuration automatically.
Manual Direct Entry tracking for journal entries
Mark and filter manual journal entries (direct entries created from the Journal Entries menu) to improve internal control and audit traceability.
Posted Date (datetime) tracking
Store the exact posted datetime when a journal entry is posted, and make it available on list/form views.
Lock Dates + Hard Lock, with a clear lock logic
Manage lock dates per scope:
- Global Lock (Lock Everything)
- Sales Lock, Purchase Lock, Tax Lock
- Hard Lock (irreversible)
The effective lock applied to a journal is the latest (maximum) among the relevant lock dates.
Lock Date Exceptions (auditable temporary access)
Allow Accounting Administrators to create Lock Date Exceptions:
- Per company, per lock area, optionally per user;
- Optional expiry datetime and mandatory reason for audit trail;
- Never overrides Hard Lock.
Accounting access roles aligned
- Basic Accounting User – read-only access for business operations
- Auditor – full accounting read-only access
- Accountant – operational accounting access
- Accounting Administrator – full configuration and control
Better analysis and navigation on journal entries
* Add journal items count and “Large Entries” filter;
* Add search helpers to quickly find entries by Account/Product.
